Our pre-assembled handrail posts are designed to simplify your project, whether for fall protection, accessibility, or creating a boundary. With these posts, you only need to add horizontal tubes for the connections in between and the appropriate bolts for ground mounting (not included).
Available Configurations:
-
Corner Post: For a 90-degree corner connection.
-
Mid Post: For a straight connection at 180 degrees..
-
End Post: For a freestanding end.
-
End D-Post: For a freestanding end that extends approximately 30 cm beyond the post (includes a pre-assembled 'D' section).
If your project starts or ends against a wall, our wall flanges (available in 42 mm or 48 mm) are perfect for creating a secure wall connection.
We also offer through bolts for mounting the posts to hard surfaces. An Allen key is required for assembly.
Dimensions and Standards
Railing Height
Our railing kits comply with UK Building Regulations and BS 6180:2011, which specify a total height of 110 cm for balustrades and railings in public or commercial buildings. All our kits are designed to meet this height requirement.
Post Spacing Guidelines
The distance between posts is determined by BS 6180:2011 and BS EN 1991-1-1, which establish the minimum load-bearing capacity in Newton-meters based on usage. Minimum load requirements per category:
-
360 N/m: For offices and light commercial spaces.
-
740 N/m: For public areas with normal traffic.
-
1500+ N/m: For high-traffic public spaces (e.g., stadiums, concert halls), depending on crowd density and movement dynamics.
Most projects fall under the first category. To ensure compliance with our kit, we recommend using a tube length of 128 cm (for size 7 / 42.4 mm) or 145 cm (for size 8 / 48.3 mm). See below the maximum recommended tube lengths per category.
| N/m |
Size 7 42.4 mmm |
Size 8 48.3 mm |

Finish: hot-dip galvanised (ISO 1461)
This tubeclamp is hot-dip galvanised in accordance with BS 729 (ISO 1461). During this process the fitting is immersed in molten zinc, creating a strong and durable protective coating. The zinc layer protects the fitting against corrosion and makes it highly suitable for outdoor applications and long-term use in changing weather conditions. On request, the tubeclamps can also be powder coated in a different colour.
