This variable elbow key clamp is designed for connecting a sloped top rail to a vertical post on ascending surfaces. It accommodates angles from +11° to +30° relative to a standard 90° connection, which results in a total tube-to-tube angle of approximately 101° to 120°.
Ideal for staircases, ramps, or inclined handrail sections. Made from hot-dip galvanised steel for long-term outdoor use. Use in conjunction with a matching lower rail fitting such as the Sloped Short Tee (11°-30°).
Typical applications: ascending handrail ends, sloped corner joints, safety barriers on ramps or stairs.
Assembly
Each key clamp is supplied with a set screw (Allen screw) for secure installation. An Allen key is the only tool required to tighten the tube firmly in the key clamp. Always use the correct Allen key size to prevent damage to the set screw and ensure proper tightening.
Quality & Standards
Our tube clamps are manufactured in accordance with BS EN 1562 and produced from high-quality malleable iron (grade KTH350-10). The tube clamps are finished with a hot-dip galvanised coating according to BS EN ISO 1461, providing excellent corrosion resistance and making them suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
When properly tightened to a recommended torque of 39 Nm, the tube clamps create a strong and reliable mechanical connection. Load capacity depends on the specific fitting type, tube size and construction design.
