The Two Socket Cross is designed to form a 90° connection between a midrail and a vertical upright. The upright passes continuously through the fitting, while the horizontal rail connects from both sides. This makes it ideal for the middle rail in safety guardrails and other tubular structures.
The fitting is open internally, allowing the vertical tube to run through uninterrupted. For applications requiring two continuous tubes crossing at 90° on different planes, consider the 90° Crossover.
Assembly
Each key clamp is supplied with a set screw (Allen screw) for secure installation. An Allen key is the only tool required to tighten the tube firmly in the key clamp. Always use the correct Allen key size to prevent damage to the set screw and ensure proper tightening.
Quality & Standards
Our tube clamps are manufactured in accordance with BS EN 1562 and produced from high-quality malleable iron (grade KTH350-10). The tube clamps are finished with a hot-dip galvanised coating according to BS EN ISO 1461, providing excellent corrosion resistance and making them suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
When properly tightened to a recommended torque of 39 Nm, the tube clamps create a strong and reliable mechanical connection. Load capacity depends on the specific fitting type, tube size and construction design.
