The Short Tee, also known as Single Socket Tee, is a versatile key clamp fitting designed to create a 90° connection between two tubes of 48.3 mm diameter. Commonly used for straight and level handrails, it connects an upright post to a horizontal rail, making it ideal for end posts or top 'T' joints in guardrails and barriers.
This fitting is not suitable for joining tubes within the open section. If you need to join tubes through the top of the 'T', consider using a Long Tee fitting instead.
Made from galvanised steel, the Short Tee offers excellent durability and corrosion resistance for indoor and outdoor use.
Typical applications: handrail systems, base ties in racking, frames, and safety barriers.
Assembly
Each key clamp is supplied with a set screw (Allen screw) for secure installation. An Allen key is the only tool required to tighten the tube firmly in the key clamp. Always use the correct Allen key size to prevent damage to the set screw and ensure proper tightening.
Quality & Standards
Our tube clamps are manufactured in accordance with BS EN 1562 and produced from high-quality malleable iron (grade KTH350-10). The tube clamps are finished with a hot-dip galvanised coating according to BS EN ISO 1461, providing excellent corrosion resistance and making them suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
When properly tightened to a recommended torque of 39 Nm, the tube clamps create a strong and reliable mechanical connection. Load capacity depends on the specific fitting type, tube size and construction design.
