The Long Tee key clamp, also known as Three Socket Tee, is designed to create a strong 90° connection between two tubes of 42.4 mm diameter. Unlike the Short Tee, this fitting allows a join in the horizontal tube, ideal when two rails need to meet within the clamp and be secured using internal socket set screws.
Commonly used for connecting a top rail to a vertical upright in handrail and guardrail systems, the Long Tee provides additional flexibility in design. It can accommodate either a single through tube or two separate tubes joined inside the top of the 'T'.
Manufactured from galvanised steel for durability and corrosion resistance, this fitting is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
Typical applications: safety handrails, guardrails, industrial barriers, and tubular frameworks where a rail join is needed.
Assembly
Each key clamp is supplied with a set screw (Allen screw) for secure installation. An Allen key is the only tool required to tighten the tube firmly in the key clamp. Always use the correct Allen key size to prevent damage to the set screw and ensure proper tightening.
Quality & Standards
Our tube clamps are manufactured in accordance with BS EN 1562 and produced from high-quality malleable iron (grade KTH350-10). The tube clamps are finished with a hot-dip galvanised coating according to BS EN ISO 1461, providing excellent corrosion resistance and making them suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
When properly tightened to a recommended torque of 39 Nm, the tube clamps create a strong and reliable mechanical connection. Load capacity depends on the specific fitting type, tube size and construction design.
