This tee key clamp connects a horizontal rail to a rail that slopes upwards, often used on staircases ascending from a landing. The angled rail connects to the upright at 30°-45° from vertical (upwards), forming a tube-to-tube angle of approximately 135° to 150°.
Use C041 for a downward-sloping variant, or C221 for the mid rail.
Typical applications: top or mid rail going from flat to sloping up, stair access guardrails, angled safety barrier systems.
Assembly
Each key clamp is supplied with a set screw (Allen screw) for secure installation. An Allen key is the only tool required to tighten the tube firmly in the key clamp. Always use the correct Allen key size to prevent damage to the set screw and ensure proper tightening.
Quality & Standards
Our tube clamps are manufactured in accordance with BS EN 1562 and produced from high-quality malleable iron (grade KTH350-10). The tube clamps are finished with a hot-dip galvanised coating according to BS EN ISO 1461, providing excellent corrosion resistance and making them suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
When properly tightened to a recommended torque of 39 Nm, the tube clamps create a strong and reliable mechanical connection. Load capacity depends on the specific fitting type, tube size and construction design.
