High quality Galvanised Steel Tubes with diameter 48,3 mm, also known as size 8. The use of a hot dip galvanisation process makes the tubes suited to both indoor and outdoor use. Use this tube in combination with key clamps of size 8 (48.3 mm). The wall thickness of this pipe is 3.2 mm and the approximate weight of this tube is 3.59 kg per meter.

Galvanised Steel Tubes

Galvanised steel tube is a strong building material and very suitable for load bearing constructions using key clamps. The galvanisation of the tubes means that the tubes have been dipped in a bath of molten zinc. This layer protects the steel of the tubes against corrosion. Depending on conditions this protection lasts years or even decades. This combination of asthetics, strength and durability makes our tubes a great choice for anything from handrails to stylish industrial furniture.

Good to know:
- Steel tubes occasionally have some batch identification marks printed on them. These can be easily removed using a cloth with some thinner.
- Deviations of up to 5mm in the length are possible though usually smaller.
- Use a decimal point (.) in the tube length in order to enter a length in mm.
- The edge of a tube that has been cut is not galvanised and may show corrosion. This is expected behaviour and the edge will still be protected from further corrosion through the galvanic working of the zinc layer. A possible solution is to treat the edges that have been cut with a zinc spray.
