The 4 Socket Cross is a structural key clamp designed to connect four horizontal tubes to a central upright at 90° angles. The vertical tube passes continuously through the tubefitting, making it suitable for creating rigid cross-junctions in the midrail of guardrails, support frames, or racking systems.
This fitting is commonly used in multi-upright structures and can also serve as a top rail junction point. If used at the top of an upright, the vertical post can be closed off with a Plastic End Cap for a clean finish.
Assembly
Each key clamp is supplied with a set screw (Allen screw) for secure installation. An Allen key is the only tool required to tighten the tube firmly in the key clamp. Always use the correct Allen key size to prevent damage to the set screw and ensure proper tightening.
Quality & Standards
Our tube clamps are manufactured in accordance with BS EN 1562 and produced from high-quality malleable iron (grade KTH350-10). The tube clamps are finished with a hot-dip galvanised coating according to BS EN ISO 1461, providing excellent corrosion resistance and making them suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
When properly tightened to a recommended torque of 39 Nm, the tube clamps create a strong and reliable mechanical connection. Load capacity depends on the specific fitting type, tube size and construction design.
