The Sloped Two Socket Cross is an adjustable two socket cross key clamp designed to connect a lower rail to a vertical post on staircases or ramps with gradients between 30° and 45°. The upright passes through the centre of the tubefitting, while the sloped rail connects from both sides.
This fitting is intended for the mid or lower rail and is not suitable for use as a top rail connection. For angled top rails, consider using the Sloped Three Socket Tee (C245) or Adjustable Short Tee (C29) .
Assembly
Each key clamp is supplied with a set screw (Allen screw) for secure installation. An Allen key is the only tool required to tighten the tube firmly in the key clamp. Always use the correct Allen key size to prevent damage to the set screw and ensure proper tightening.
Quality & Standards
Our tube clamps are manufactured in accordance with BS EN 1562 and produced from high-quality malleable iron (grade KTH350-10). The tube clamps are finished with a hot-dip galvanised coating according to BS EN ISO 1461, providing excellent corrosion resistance and making them suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
When properly tightened to a recommended torque of 39 Nm, the tube clamps create a strong and reliable mechanical connection. Load capacity depends on the specific fitting type, tube size and construction design.
